Calibration of our online free chlorine and chlorine dioxide sensors is accomplished using the DPD methodology. The FCLA7000 eXact® Micro 7 is designed to provide an effiecient real time on site measurement for calibrating our online sensors. It is EPA-compliant and carries the CE mark. Four AAA batteries (not included) power the FCLA7000. It is supplied with test strips to perform 1000 tests 0-6ppm. (Note: For higher 6-11ppm, use the HR strips ordered seperately. For chlorine dioxide, the use of an additional glycine strip to bind any chlorine present is required. These additional strips are ordered seperately from the FCLA7000 kit.)

Compare the performance and 1000 tests of the FCLA7000 eXact Micro 7 with models costing three times as much. You will quicly notice the value. With a 4 mL sample cell it's environmental friendly, using less chemicals than the ordinary 10 ml test. The meter provides accuracy you can rely on, minimum variation, and fast results (uses 20 second test method) at 0.01 resolution. To interpet the data for chlorine dioxide, use the graph located in the instruction manual.

Low Ionic pH applications can cause pH electrodes to appear unstable and sensitive to drift. Sensorex offers special models in low ionic configuration to help solve these issues.

Special electrodes are available for low ionic pH applications.

Low ionic samples can cause pH electrodes to appear drifty and unstable, making it difficult to use as a process control. Sensorex offers special models of our most popular electrodes in a low ionic configuration to help solve these issues. Samples less than 100 microsiemens conductivity should use these special models. By balancing the chemistry inside the electrode we created a pH and reference cell suited for low ionic environments. The result is an electrode which is stable and repeatable which will allow users to utilize them for process control.

The following are our most popular models; however, any pH electrode can be supplied in a special low ionic configuration.

The S600 series of flat surface pH electrodes can be ordered in configurations for in-line, side stream, insertion, and submersion. These pH electrodes save time and money and provide users with real benefits. The flat surface measuring glass, when used in turbulent flow, reduces coating and build up in dirty applications. Choose electrodes for general use in low ionic samples or samples containing acidic HF. The cartridge type design allows sensor replacement in seconds which reduces downtime. Models are available in CPVC. Optional PVDF versions of the side stear, submersion, and insertion models are also available. Learn more about the four standard configurations:

Insertion assembly, also known as wet-tap and hot-tap, are used through side walls of tanks or pipe diameters larger than two inches. Use of a one inch full port ball valve allows users to remove sensors from full vessels or pressurized lines.

Known as wet-tap, insertion assembly, or hot-tap, these sensors may be side-mounted into tanks or installed in large diameter pressurized pipes. Use of a one inch full port ball valve allows removal without system shutdown.

Because of its cost effective CPVC construction, the Sensorex Insertion Assembly allows pH measurements to be made in pressurized tanks and main lines without having to use expensive stainless steel components.

The insertion depth can be easily adjusted by the user to be positioned in a turbulent area of the tank or line. This will optimize the self-cleaning feature of the flat surface electrode. In abrasive applications, the electrode is usually positioned close to the pipe wall. This assembly is well suited for measurements in liquids with high suspended solids and for measurements in viscous liquids.

The insertion assembly can be fully retracted through an optional one inch full port ball valve (Sensorex part number BV-1). The ball valve is then closed, isolating the electrode and holder from the pressurized system. This is accomplished without draining the tank or de-pressurizing the line.

The special electrode used in the insertion assembly allows it to be mounted in any position; for example, it can be mounted through the bottom of a tank with its measuring surface facing upward. The vast majority of pH electrodes in the world should be installed above the horizontal plane due to the intentional placement of an air bubble in the pH stem (The air bubble compensates for pressure changes due to thermal expansion and contraction). The standard S655CD is the original electrode. The model S656CD is offered with HT gels for general or severe use. Also, special models are available for low ionic samples and samples containing acidic HF. Note the S656CD features protection for the flat measuring surface to help prevent breakage.

Order the pH cartridge electrode, an insertion assembly, and a cable assembly for the initial installation. In the future, replacement electrode cartridges are all that you will need to maintain your system. Standard components are constructed in CPVC. Choose parts with a "K" suffix for PVDF components.

Sensorex self-cleaning flat surface combination pH electrodes are available in fluoride resistant designs. A special glass formulation is used to enhance the resistance of the pH glass from fluoride attack, resulting in an extended life and reduced maintenance cost.

Available in both S8000 and S600 series, these electrodes are identical in size and shape to the standard self-cleaning flat surface electrodes. They are available for mounting in all configurations of the standard mounting hardware.

Semiconductor manufacturing, electroplating and glass etching solutions, and waste waters containing acidic fluorides such as Hydrofluoric Acid are ideal applications for these new electrodes. For certain fluoride applications, customers have experienced double, triple, and even five times longer life from this special glass formulation compared to competitive electrodes. One customer converted his whole plant (fluoride and non-fluoride applications) to these electrodes because of their superior stability, longer life, and reduced maintenance.

Short electrode service life? Electrodes shift when system is running? You may have a ground loop in your measurement system.

Ground loops are a fairly common problem with pH measurements. Plastic tanks and piping lack adequate earth grounding if there is voltage leaking in the system. Look at our support section for a detailed explantion on ground loops. Sensorex offers some simple solutions to solve these issues.

Our S8000 system using our S8000CD pH electrode, mounting hardware EA899 or EA899TC with solution ground, and an optional differential electronic module EM801 can reject up to about 3V and provide a solution for this troublesome problem.

Within our S600 series we have a submersion sensor DA650CD with a built in differential amplifier. For in-line, our DA660CD (3/4"), DA661CD(1"), or DA662CD(2") also with internal differential amplifier can solve this issue up to about 3V in the system.

These pH electrodes are available in special by-pass flow cells that optimize their self cleaning benefits. Customers in food and dairy applications or with oily wastewater use this unique design to solve many problems.

By-pass mountings are particularly useful in applications involving oily coatings, low suspended solids, or moderately viscous materials. The flow cell is easily isolated using inexpensive block valves to service the electrode without the need for any tools.

An inexpensive flow cell accelerates the velocity past the electrode in a predictable manner. Flow rates of one to five GPM provide excellent cleaning velocities in low viscosity applications. Exact control of flow rates is not required. Lower flow rates are used when viscosities are higher. Even one GPM still provides excellent flow in shear to assure that fresh material is always at the measuring surface.

In the food or dairy industry, only a tiny rate of fluid product needs to be pumped through the flow cell. This material can then be directed to waste disposal with no chance of glass contaminating the consumers' product. Rates of 0.5 or even 0.2 gpm will provide accurate measurement of pH. The pH glass sensing technology is acknowledged to be the easiest to use, more repeatable, more accurate, more dependable, and cheaper in cost than solid state sensing technologies.
